Collection of Information
Website
When visiting the Coral Seas website,
certain user information is gathered to assist in diagnosing server problems,
establishing security measures, and for on-going site management. The information
collected during a users visit includes:
- The domain from which the user
is visiting the site,
- The date and time,
- The webpages viewed,
- Browser software and operating
system.
Coral Seas is committed to maintaining
user trust and confidence. It is our policy to inform all users of any information
collected. We do not collect any information that may tie users to a personal
identity during their browsing experience.
On-line forms
The use of on-line forms by our users
allow for expedient feedback from surveys, questionnaires, and interrogatories;
and convenient subscription to our newsletter. We take reasonable measures to guaranteeing
the security and validity of the afore mentioned on-line forms.
The purposes for use of on-line forms
have two categories. The first category applies to on-line forms addressing
official Coral Seas business. Official business forms relate directly to the workings,
dealings, process, and development of the organization. These forms will require
the submission of personal information so as to account for each participating
member. Acess to information from these forms is restricted to the Coral Seas Board of
Trustees and Executive Officers.
The second category of form types
consists of opinion polls or general interrogatories. On-line forms such as these
are open to the general user community. Submitting personal information on these
forms is optional. We will not reveal any personal information that users provide
to us to any third party without their expressed consent.
Interrogatories
When interrogatories are sent to
Coral Seas we will store the question and e-mail address to be able to electronically
respond in a timely manner. We may choose to use publish only the questions
from interrogatories in our FAQ's if it benefits the user community. We do not
publicly disclose senders of interrogatories. We will not pursue the tracking
of personal information from those who send interrogatories. If the sender wishes
to supply such information then it is at their discretion.
Intrusion Detection
For site security and to ensure that
this service remains available to all users, we have employed the security policies,
measures and software of our ISP to monitor traffic to identify unauthorized
attempts to upload or change information, or to otherwise cause damage. In the
event of authorized law enforcement investigations, and pursuant to any required
legal process, information from our resources may be used to help identify the
perpetrator.
